In favour of jail

RE:Kelowna jail site off the table for good


Kelowna really needs a Jail.

We spend tax dollars shuffling around prisoners and paying our sheriffs and police to transport these people to the courts.

If we had a jail here we would create jobs, establish safety for our police and sheriffs. We have the courts here we need a proper jail.

I also understand how this will help the families of these people to better support a family member that is incarcerated by not having to spend so much money visiting them in Kamloops or Vancouver.

I would also like to see drug and alcohol rehab units attached to the prison to accommodate the recovery process.

Don't forget people are not born bad they grow up that way. We would see more family interaction and should be able to intervene with more support in all directions.

I don't agree with this Jail being placed lakeside.

Let's put this someplace where we have unused land that is not currently making the city money and put it up make the city better cleaner and more efficient.
