I think everyone should aspire to be as perfect as A.S. obviously is. I'm sure, A.S., that you have never in your life done anything irresponsible. You should give lessons to parents on how to have perfect children, as you obviously were a perfect child who made no mistakes. Must have been, otherwise how could you write such a scathing letter that will make these girls feel worse than they already must?

I find it interesting that you think you know other struggling families who break no laws and are more deserving. How do you know? Are you with these people 24 hours a day? Do they ever speed? Do you? Even 1km over the limit is breaking the law. Do they ever cross a road when not at a crosswalk? Do you? I think you need to get a life. No, the girls shouldn't have been smoking. But they are kids.

Kids do silly things. And their excuse? That they are kids. They are still learning. What about all the stupid adults out there ( so obviously not including you or your " other deserving families") who break laws every day and should know better?

I hope you never make an error in judgment that results in someone else's property or person being hurt, but if you do I really hope that someone is there reminding you an a daily basis how stupid and irresponsible you were, and never let you forget it.

You don't know how these girls are feeling, nor do you know what punishment, if any, the mother is going to give. I would think that the sheer grief they must feel about what happened would be enough of a lesson. After all, they lost everything that belongs to them. That in itself is a serious daily reminder.

Instead of harping on this unfortunate incident, perhaps you could start teaching parenting classes ( since you are obviously such an expert). The money you earn could go to helping those you feel are deserving, all those as perfect as yourself!
