RE:Killed climate change bill flawed: Harper
Another news day and another example of Stephen Harper's assault on Canadian democracy. For the first time in Canadian history, our Senate (more specifically the Conservative Senators), have voted down a bill that was passed through the House of Commons. An unprecedented move by the Tories. This was a bill to combat climate change non-the-less, something Mr. Harper clearly doesn't believe in.
Let's all remember that Mr. Harper once upon a time vehemently opposed unelected Senators and promised to change the system and never appoint anyone if he was elected. Fast forward a short period of time and now he is using his unelected "friends" to kill legislation passed by the officials that were actually elected by us, the people.
If the issue was supposed unattainable goals (why shoot for the moon when you have a ceiling?), why not propose amendments. Oh wait, we've seen this before with the LGR...my way or the highway with Harper and Co.
The denial about climate change and the unwillingness to do anything about it is bordering on the absurd in this country, it's embarrassing. Hanging the future of this great nation out to dry. But hey, look on the bright side...at least we have more Dinosaur Awards to look forward to.
Just remember the four D's of the Conservative Reform Alliance Party: Deny, Deceive, Distract and Delay.
Time to wake up Canada and see this Government it for what it is!
