I know this is the season when many who drink will be concerned about the new drunk driving law affecting their "good times" in the weeks before and after Christmas. I personally am a victim twice over of drunk driving. At the age of 19 I lost someone in my home from drinking and driving. Then this February my husband and son were hit while stopped at a traffic light by people leaving a pub, totalling our 2008 car and injuring our family.
So I plead with the R.C.M.P. and any others in authority interpreting this law: Do not slack up on it. Many of you in authority have seen the utter devastation and horror drunk driving causes to innocent people and even those drinking and driving.
I hear this law is making some impact and I say PLEASE! use it to make this a good and safe Christmas for more people.
