Don't Give Up

I hope I am not being too forward, DT, but I have a question or two for you. I have no other way to respond, except through this medium.
I read your letter and wondered, where's your family? Do you have a problem that prevents you from finding a job? I don't know the full circumstances of your plight other than the fact you are being cut off of assistance.
If I may be yet bolder still, I think you owe it to your son to redouble your efforts in coming to grips with problems in your life. This may sound harsh, but take it from me, a person who was on the edge of losing everything at one time, sometimes if we dig down deep past the muck and mire that we wade through, there we will find that stone left unturned. Turn it!
Don't let anger or despair weigh you down to the point of going to the extreme of living on the street. Fight tooth and claw to overcome.
I have a family of six to provide for. I work at a job that provides a mediocre wage. My educational background isn't the best. Drugs were rampant in my life for a time. Booze and depression were bedmates for me. I overcame because one person had the fortitude and the kahonies to look me directly in the eye and tell me to fight this stuff like hell. My family depended on it.
If I can help at all, this would be the way. It seems hopeless at the time but there must be more to you than meets the eye. After all you had the guts to reach out through this medium with a plaintive call for help.
Don't give up, fight like hell. Your son depends on it. So do you.

J.B.
