All the reports are telling us that water levels are at very low levels already. So why is it that people in this town continue treating water like it's abundant?
Today a guy had his sprinkler on in the middle of the day, but it wasn't on his lawn. Nope, it was on the sidewalk so the tree on the edge of the street could get some water. My wife walked by to pick up my daughter and when she came back home it was still on. This was 30 minutes at least. The sidewalk wasn't complaining though. It got a very nice soaking after all.
It's high time people starting calling out their neighbours and/or calling to complain. This isn't funny. It's a precious resource that is dwindling. So what if your grass is yellow? Water your tree with a hose for a few minutes.
Quit wasting water Kelowna. It's been happening for years and it's got to stop.
