This is in response to DD's letter regarding the No Trespassing Signs on the Greenway. I voted No. I have been following the Greenway Saga from its beginning. This is just another chapter to a very long drawn out story. I voted realistically. I use the Greenway often and enjoy it, respectfully.
The signs that have been erected are a political statement and I can not take them literally. The owners of these properties have said in the past that they would allow access to the property willingly but ask that the City give them a reasonable price for the land.
The signs tell me that the City has reneged on their deal or are dragging their feet. For this reason I lose respect for the "City" and its decision makers. I have no ill feeling for the land owners...I would be doing the same things. I applaud them and thank them for not putting up the gates again.
The Castanet polls are a way to gage public opinion. I like to think that I can answer honestly with an informed opinion without the rantings of DD.
V.M.
