To the editor:
This weekend I witnessed a very disturbing event while attending a t-ball event with the Rutland Minor Baseball Association.
The coach of one of the teams began arguing with one of the 5 or 6-year-old players and kept arguing with him until the parent was forced to intervene and the child was left in tears.
I know that it very hard to get people to volunteer their time with these sort of events, however these coaches needs to remember that they are coaching children who do not have the emotional ability to handle the stress that they are being put under. Let's remember that these kids are there to have fun and for them it is game. The coach does not have to leave the kid in tears when he forgets to touch the home plate.
