RE:NOW building
You people are out of your mind! In what circumstance is it better to have a parking lot over housing for abused women and children – in any area? The City of Kelowna owns that piece of property and the levels of Government have come together to finance this building, the City doesn’t own The Conservatory as one writer mentioned was the perfect solution, the City doesn’t own the lot on Springfield that would have been such a great area for children other than the fact there is no schools in close proximity (but yay there is a Wal-Mart). The City has an empty lot that is sitting there useless and if there has ever been a development that this town needs it’s this one. You might be surprised how the new building will clean the area up.
A parking lot is not going to bring people to those businesses good products, good customer service, involvement in the well being of the community are contributing factors for those boutique stores that are in the area. I shop at a few of the stores regularly and have never once been forced to park in that lot. And to be honest I don’t think I will ever need to as I am not willing to support this ridiculous notion that this building will harm your business. Well, I guess the NOW building is a direct result of harming your business because I won’t be shopping in that area in the future based on the attitudes of the few local shop owners.
