I would like to respond to the little philosophy in regards to the Western Star Trucks plant closure in Kelowna. I would like to remind this individual, and all others who think like this, that Freightliner decided to shut down the Kelowna division.
It is called U.S. protectionism. Keep the jobs in the States and screw the others. I know that there are still a number of other vendors and suppliers that still supply Freightliner with materials. Some of these suppliers are unionized by the same union that the employees of Western Star were members of. Food for thought? Rather unlikely! Misinformed? Highly likely.
Why don't you get your facts straight. My question is this. Why are there so many bleeding hearted individuals that cry whenever they hear about employees that make a decent wage. It sounds like some people are jealous that others have the drive and determination to go after higher paying jobs. Now that's food for thought.
