Good Morning! I just voted in your poll on when we celebrate Thanksgiving and in our family we celebrate on the Monday. The reason we do this is that for the past four years my family and our neighbour's family have risen at 6:00 am on the Sunday to be at a water station - this year station number 4 - to help provide support and encouragement for the many runners taking place in the Okanagan International Marathon.
This year over 2400 runners passed by our station, and what amazes me is how many of them have a kind word for us, even after having already logged 6 and a half kilometres! We hope we were able to give them all a real boost with our "You can do it" sign, the lively music and our enthusiastic cheers, all under our balloon decked gazebo.
Congratulations to all of the race participants and to the race organizers. Count us in to help again next year! We don't mind having our turkey tomorrow!
Sincerely,
Michele and Justin Rule
