WHY? Why does to city schedule bridge repairs for nights that the Kelowna Rockets play home games. That 4 way stop on Water and Doyle is bad enough, but to wait for 2 hours to get TO the bridge when I am just a 3 minute walk from it? Come on, we are having Rush Hour/Summer traffic congestions on the highway before the bridge at 9:30 at night in October!
It really chokes me up that the city is honestly so arrogant and short of wit and smarts to actually do such a thing. Which also brings me to my next point. Only 1 lane open after these events/games? It almost seems like the city WANTS to anger their citizens. We pay "sunshine tax" why? To wait in traffic for 2 hours just to get to Queensway from Prospera Place at 9:30 at night?
Ok, I understand they need to repair the bridge, but how come when I go downtown on any other night than event nights, there are ZERO repairs being done, but once you have 3,000 people trying to cross the bridge at the same time, the city turns around and says "whoops, sorry, we got to do repairs." And the workers wonder why they get the rude remarks they do as people drive by at 10 KM/h.
