Don't Judge Every Senior

I am writing this in response to G & JC, I think that is an absolutely horrible thing to say. Just because you retired doesn't mean that your incompetent and that life stops. Yes, I agree some elderly people shouldn't be on the road-but a lot of people's lives only start once they are retired. Traveling, camping, visiting grandchildren and other various activities that you need a motor vehicle for. My grandfather is retired and lives in Calgary, I don't have the time or the money to go visit him on a regular basis-knowing that, he drives out here every summer to spend it with the grandchildren. This makes our summer, and I'm a 24 year old grandkid that is very close to grandpa.

Ever been to Calgary? With the temperatures and size of the city how is grandpa going to get groceries??? Oh, right, he can sit at the bus stop freezing his wrinkles off with eight bags of groceries that he is going to carry on the sidewalks covered in ice and snow! There's a broken hip. What about a social life?? Older people have relationships and friendships, they also enjoy movies, plays and going out for dinner just like us "working class". I think its ridiculous that G & JC judge every person not working incapable of driving, kinda like judging a book by the cover. I hope I can talk to them at retirement age and see how happy they are to be handing their licenses over-because life must be over!?
