Written by Karen Stapley in Memory of Mindy Tran
Flying yellow ribbons,
Vigils by candlelight,
But girls are still being murdered,
They are being taken from this life...
Petitions by the thousands,
Marches in the streets,
Have not stopped these wicked men,
From completing their selfish, evil feats...
How many of our daughters,
My friends, his sisters, your wives,
Must perish in such horrific ways,
And be stripped of their precious lives...
We have this thing called, Justice,
But Justice for whom I ask,
For the victims or the convicts,
Or for the faces behind Laws Masks...
The laws, they must be changed, we chant,
That's just a step along the way,
Rehab and stiffer sentences,
Not a few years, less a day...
And who will die tomorrow,
Who will disappear next week,
Who's daughter, mother, sister, friend,
Must we lay to rest beneath our feet...
Flying yellow ribbons,
Vigils by candlelight,
But girls are still being murdered,
Still, they are taken from this life...
Flying yellow ribbons...
Vigils by candlelight...
