I firstly was disappointed with the way the tickets distribution was handled. I had purchased my tickets in June and had gotten seats in row 12 at which point I was quite pleased with. A day prior to the concert I discovered that front row seats back to row 5 were available. Ticketmaster said it was at the promoter’s discretion to release them and the promoter (Ms.Cameron) said it was the artist’s discretion. Who ever is responsible -it is in very bad taste that the loyal fans who purchase their tickets early are forced to take mediocre seats.
As far a filling any country music venue in Kelowna – I am thinking that since the city doesn’t even have a country radio station that we can tune into any longer - it is pretty hard to keep up on the country music scene - so if people are not listening to country music while driving or at work etc. and are not aware of what new music is out there why would we go see their concerts.
I too went to the Alan Jackson concert last year and being back in the general admission section I was very grateful for the screens. I was quite surprised that they weren’t there this year.
I hope that Ms. Cameron takes heed to what everyone is expressing. We just started getting the “big name” artists here and it would be a shame to loose that privilege that we have waited so long for.
