Re: "Drag too sexual for kids," John Anderson, letters
Lack of discussion and conversations about sex, drugs, identity, race and religion doesn't lead to a greater understanding.
You have to give kids more credit. There is no doubt they are impressionable, and that's why we have to build empathy and understanding within them.
Anyone who says that drag queens are too sexual hasn't been to that story time and before further commenting should attend the next one.
I disagree with what church and religion teach kids and adults. The fact there are people out there who don't believe in evolution and believe that Earth is 6,000 years old is hard to grasp. But, you don't see me ranting to people outside of churches about that.
You are welcome to have your beliefs and practise them as long as you don't try to convert me. I expect the same level of tolerance from you.
You don't like it, don't go. Live in your own bubble.
My kids will attend, and I will teach them about sex when the time comes. I don't expect that time will be during the drag queen story time.
