Letter writer Jorge de Luz was right on the money when he said “let the developers pay.”
They need us; we do not need them.
If they want to cash in on the Kelowna experience, they should be paying dearly. As it is, our inept council keeps giving away the farm.
Reduced development cost charges and variances are the new norm.
Any increased development should be at full price to the city, not sale prices.
The cost of servicing this rapid development far exceeds the revenues generated from it. There is no catching up. I would be thrilled if there were no more highrises on the waterfront.
