Don't fall for promises

Canada needs to get the oil flowing – 100,000 oil workers are sitting idle and another 200,000 support workers are waiting to get back to work.

We need a "made in Canada" price for our oil and gas. Western Canada will supply oil for the western provinces while the eastern provinces receive oil from imports. Norway has a heritage fund of one trillion dollars from oil revenues. Canada has nothing.

We need to look after Canadians first. We can still supply aid to other countries in the form of humanitarian support, medical and technology, but no money. No money equals no corruption.

Restructuring of Government  – most of the federal government can be eliminated or downsized. No need for backbenchers, for instance.

Free secondary education for Canadians. We need to educate Canadians first to fill jobs.

We also need compulsory federal budget balancing. This will ensure there are no more deficits, and the government in power will be responsible. Budget overruns should result in the governing party being recalled.   No more costly election promises.

Finally, a complete overhaul of the justice system to make sense.

Before you vot , consider a government that will improve Canada to be the best country in the world. Cast away any party that will promise money that we don't have.

G.V. West, Penticton
