Down to the wire

We are down to the wire – Election Day is Monday. What shall it be, folks, red or blue?

Four years ago, we in Kelowna-Lake Country did a very brave and amazing thing – we elected Stephen Fuhr, a Liberal in a riding that had been blue, for, well, practically forever.

Stephen did not take our confidence for granted. He got right down to work, handling individual concerns, making connections, and obtaining funding for Rail Trails, UBCO research grants, water improvement infrastructure, including one project in Rose Valley on the Westside. A total of in excess of $160 million – more than either Ron Cannan or Dan Albas were able to do in nine and eight years, respectively.

Further, when constituents made it clear they supported proportional representation, Fuhr had the courage to vote against his own party in their support.  Albas just toed the party line and voted against progressive ideas, over and over again.

So, what will it be folks? Will we keep moving forward with a hard-working, progressive MP who listens to his constituents and delivers? Or will we go for the same old same old, regressive old guard?

The choice is yours.

Jane Morgan
