Prescription sticker shock

I recently got quite a shock when I filled a prescription at my local Shoppers Drug Mart.

I filled a rather expensive prescription and discovered it was not covered by Pharmacare or my private plan.

I was charged $595 for this prescription. I later learned that at Costco the same prescription is $435.

Of course, every business needs to make a profit, but $160, 36% more?

I also found that the fee at Costco is half of Shoppers, and other prescription prices I compared were considerably lower.

Obviously, all new prescriptions for this household are going to Costco.
