Dear Mr. Schmidt:
I am taking this opportunity to write to you, after the criminal activity around our neighborhood yesterday. I am sure you are aware of the growing drug problems, in and around city park and around the corner of Boyce Cres. and Pandosy. Yesterday at around 5 PM. there was a shooting in this area where a person was killed. It did not escape us, as a well known drug house was visited by the R.C.M.P. right after the shooting, this raising the question, if the R.C.M.P. had suspected that there was a possibility that the shooter was in this unit, why can we not get this house shut down.
No one has been arrested for this and it is making a lot of us that live in this area nervous. We here on Boyce Cres. are constantly on the phone to police for assistance in trying to get rid of the druggies in our area and do not feel enough is being done. My question to you is what are you going to do to help us with this ever growing problem?
We need more Police officers in Kelowna, or maybe Kelowna needs a city police force as we are growing in leaps and bounds. We also need to have our laws revisited as they do not seem to be sufficient. Can you please give us your input as to what is going to be done to help the tax paying citizens in this neighborhood. I look forward to a response and would welcome to come over to our homes at anytime to discuss with us what is in the works.
D.F.
