We were foster parents for 12 years and had four young high-needs boys from Kelowna.
We adopted our youngest, who had Riley Saunders as his social worker.
We took a break after the adoption for about three years and applied again to foster. Turned down although we were at the highest level.
Reason, believe it or not... "You followed a psychiatrist's instructions rather than your social worker."
We were told by many social workers: "Do as I say, or we'll pull the kid."
