I was reading your article on your site about what is going on for Canada Day celebrations when I came across the warning that dogs are not allowed in City Park. I am a dog owner but not being able to bring my dog to City Park isn’t my concern.
My concern is not being able to bring my 8 year old daughter to City Park without casing out the area first. My husband & daughter & I went on Tuesday evening about 7 pm to have a picnic. When we approached a table my husband & I noticed some explicit words written all over the table & turned away before our daughter noticed.
We went to another area & sat on a blanket to eat. During what ended up being a very quick visit to the park a ‘deal’ of some sort went on a few feet away from us.
So my concern would be that I believe that if I brought my dog to the park, someone would quickly tell me to get him out & I would get a ticket or fine. So why is the park full of people who can do whatever they want & make it a place that we who live here don’t want to visit & seemingly nothing is done to even discourage them.
About the dog ban, I believe the people who bring their dogs to a park where they are not allowed are the same people who do not pick up after their dogs.
