Disgraceful and disgusting

Re: the letter No sympathy here

Maybe that should say 'common sense.'

Let me ask a simple question: if Alberta can’t provide the 1.5 million barrels per day that Canada currently consumes, where do you think it’s gonna come from? And while you’re scratching your head on that one, factor in that Canada’s oil consumption increases every year, not the other way around.

Well, I’ll tell you where it’s going to come from – Saudi Arabia and the U.S. Does that make sense in your bubble-world? Do you, as an Canadian, honestly think this is good economics?

Here’s another thing: what you categorize as spoiled, unworthy? Albertans are actual people, human beings with families to support, taxes to pay, lives to build.

Your complete lack of empathy and consideration for your fellow man is disgraceful and disgusting. Do you know that suicide rates in Alberta have exploded since 2015? Real people have had their lives utterly destroyed in this downturn.

Shame on you. I hope you’re happy that our country is losing billions in oil revenue, at the expense of thousands of jobs, while at the same time enriching other countries.
