Time for rational thinking

One thousand million dollars is what Kelowna area, our tourism industry, has reached.

Ninety million dollars is what MP Steve Fuhr has brought to the Kelowna region in just two short years. More than any other MP in Kelowna's history – and that includes those who served two terms or more.

According to our mayor, we have a booming economy, and to think the tech industry has brought in $1.6 billion.  Not bad, and thank you to the leadership of industry, council and MP Fuhr, who I believe have all worked to make Kelowna and area a great place to live and work.

Canada has over 320,000 job vacancies and does not have the citizens to fill them. If even half of these were filled, think of the amount of money spent by them in buying what Canada produces, taxes, everyday living expenses and so on.

Andrew Scheer does not want free trade with China, but please look at the products on our grocery shelves, clothing, electrical and so on. The more we import from China, the less Canadians will produce. Canada first in my books.

The family poverty line for four people is about $40,000 – two thousand short of what I was earning when forced to retire from the military.

So if Justin, Andrew, Jagmeet and Ms. May want Canadians' lifestyle to get better, put traditional differences aside and work together to hammer out a deal. Of course, this is pie in the sky thinking. Everything Trudeau puts  forward, according to Scheer and the other two, is wrong.

This thinking cant continue. Rational thinking must prevail.
