Rough life of retail

What has Christmas become?

It is the busiest time in the retail industry. Everyone is hurrying around trying to get the best deal on gifts for loved ones. Some are frantic, some are happy. Most are just rude.

From squabbles in the parking lots, to screaming at retail clerks trying to give the best service they can to five or six people at a time.

I have heard many comments like “why can’t you have more staff on?” “Why are you so slow?”  What do you mean my card is refused, try it again.”

I'm sure anyone who has shopped has heard these, but please think of how many times the retail worker has had to hear it during long hours with few days off.

The worker shortage is noticeable on every window offering employment.

Please, take a moment and think if there were no retail workers, how would you shop?

Say something nice, or better yet, just don’t lose your cool when it takes a few extra moments to give you service.
