The refugee next door

Well, it has finally happened, one of those refugees Trudeau let in has moved next door.

It's going to cost taxpayers thousands – and how long will it go on?

We met this man in the elevator to our apartment. He smiled, said hello, let us in the elevator first. We thanked him, and grudgingly asked where he was from.

He showed us pictures of his home, and when I asked how long he had been in Canada, he replied four months, and already has a full-time job at Tim Hortons. He was thankful Canada let him in.

Holy crap, a full-time job already after four months. Whatever happened to the lifelong support opposition  Canadians would have us believe?

He smiled at us and with us. He was very friendly, very lonely, obviously hard working beyond what we were led to believe by some who don't want them here. Eighty per cent find work within the first eight months, filling what is needed.

What an eye opener for me. This gentleman, an unwanted refugee to some who haven't the ability to accept their own grandparents were immigrants. What we take for granted, our freedoms, our quality of life, is what they strive for. We have no idea what they have gone through in their short lives.

My Canada is all inclusive. We have a lot of good people who come to our country.

After this episode with the young gentleman from Morocco, I now better understand where Justin Trudeau was coming from. I better understand why our local MP Steve Fuhr is so supportive.

Who mentioned a kinder gentler Canada? My last word on what this costs me personally – about $2.50 per month, and as mentioned, for less than 12 months.
