Running out of options

I think it's time someone inquires as to why we have a Service Canada office in Kelowna, when they cannot assist anyone with their claims. All they can do is help you fill in your paperwork and have you come in for courses.

But for anything important, they tell you to call the 1-800 number.

I am in an apprentice program, I followed the instructions, got my WorkBC, filed my claim for last day of work and start of school. They confirmed I am registered, gave me my number, and I did the application as told prior to school starting.

Well that was six weeks ago. Someone at their end entered the wrong start date. Since then, I have been getting the runaround and promises it will be resolved.

I have run out of savings to pay for my obligations. They don't care. No one will give me a reason or straight answer except, it's in another department, who I can't talk to.

I have been spending a lot of time calling daily – and no resolution still. No answers, won't allow me to talk to a supervisor.

This is causing a whole lot of extra stress I can't afford. My classmates are getting their EI payments.

They have no idea what financial dire they are putting me in.
