Keep your toking at home

Re: public marijuana use

Firstly, I am not against marijuana legalization or use.

I am sure, though, it should not be consumed any differently than what has been structured for alcohol use. It should not be OK to smoke or imbibe in public where there may be underage people present.

Parents should not have to navigate the downtown sidewalks with their kids, anywhere from babies to teenagers, and breathe drug-filled air.

Being high from marijuana is not allowed when driving, as it impairs. Why does the City of Kelowna condone getting high while walking on the city streets, and technically, roads as well? Why are our kids, and non-tokers, being subject to marijuana smoke in public? It’s a drug.

This is not right.
