Don't Condemn People

Dear Society

This is in response to the article "Sex Offenders Have The Advantage". The
person who wrote this demands that sexual offenders are notably known
through their community as a sex offender (A BAD HUMAN BEING). You really
think that is going to help? Here is a scenario to ponder. You take someone
who probably has been sexual or mentally abused themselves as a child. Put
them in a jail for X amount of time, where they are taunted, beaten, etc.
Now they are out in society and they are being seen as some sort of social
outcast again due to a new law saying they have to advertise their sexual
conflict ion. So now this person is very disturbed, sexually confused, and
perhaps alone. Whenever they walk their streets parents hold their children
close, never smile or wave, and talk about the ex-con behind their back but
it's obvious. Think about the effects of that on the human psyche it is a
disaster!

I'm not saying we should just let sex offenders out on the streets and roam
free without intervention. What I am saying is that we should help them
out. Perhaps instead of a mental institute or jail we need a COMFORTING
environment with psychological aid. They are people too and need love and
support. But you want to cast them to the outskirts of society and making
them feel completely alienated. Don't make these people the fat kid on the
playground, that kid is just going to grow into hate. I mean just look at
Columbine, enough said. So instead of working against these people lets
work with them to all of our goals of happiness, Honor, and
equanimity. Should we condemn these criminals so we can pretend there isn't a
problem.
