Feeling 'set up'

Re: Red light runners beware

Even my dogs know that intersections along Harvey Avenue/Highway 97 in Kelowna all have high-volume traffic.

And that government desperately needs money on all three levels.

Those intersections are thus because of mostly blue-collar, low on the money chain workers who get their hands filthy to make this town look good, or retirees.

Who decided Kelowna is a "sucker" town they can turn into a Vancouver North?

First, they make the HOV lane the very right-hand lane, which, if an officer so chooses, can ticket a driver for driving in, even if there are only a few cars lengths before your turn. This just bottlenecks traffic so police can fine working people, and pumps out more carbon emissions.

They would also rework Ellis Street by forcing all lumber trucks onto other roads. Then the Vancouver/Kelowna crew of realtors and developers smooched their City Hall friends into putting in highrises and condos, and gave Vancouver movers and shakers their sidewalk patios.  Another cash cow.

The City of Kelowna has set the working class Joe up.
