I was driving on Highway 33 in Kelowna recently, when I paused to let a pedestrian and his really hairy, black as black could be dog cross in front of me.
The young man, about 25 or so, had that beautiful dog on a leash, and the hot asphalt had to be horrific for that poor animal. Its paws must have been getting fried as it obientently trotted along on its leash, panting so much.
I did not see a bottle of water in the fellow's hand.
I had no idea how long the young man had been walking his dog. But, when i got home, I wished I had yelled something to that guy. But, what if he had thrown something at my car, taken my licence plate, or whatever, in retaliation?
All I can think of is that poor, really hairy, black dog.
I also see a lot of people in Glenmore jogging, biking, or walking with dogs in the heat of the day. I just want to strip the owners of their shoes, and make them walk on that hot pavement.
