Too much booze and drugs

I am a mom of two kids, one of whom is an adult. We all know that we cannot keep tabs on everything they are doing, and can do everything in our power to raise them properly, but in this day in age, the young adults or youth are completely numb and invincible to what they are doing and their surroundings.

The TV, music, technology, clothing, social media, Internet, and horrible video games have played a large role in this.

I am shocked and absolutely discusted with the whole Center of Gravity taking place and continuing after a youth died there. It is just another thing to numb them.

COG is really just a place for the young adults and youth to drink and do drugs (just like a rave). Yes, there might be families there or those who are truly interested in particular events, but I bet most young people are there for the drugs and alcohol.

I know this because my older son goes to all these events, and I pray the day will never come when I get a phone call or knock at my door telling me my child is dead.

With the fentanyl and overdose problems right now, you would think this would be a dry event, or they would at least be checking people a lot better for drugs and alcohol.

I am completely disgusted they didn't even shut it down after someone lost their Life.

I would really hope parents rally around this and support each other in this sad, unfortunate event. That young girl was a daughter, maybe a sibling, a grandchild, a neice, and friend, and those affected by her life ending will have to live with this forever.

And don't forget the party still went on without her. So sad.
