Long term rental pool

I would like to comment on the story from Vernon regarding the tenant from hell. I am dealing with a past tenant where after being legally and properly notified for eviction had moved out however has now served me with a suit for a five figure amount after the fact.

She has a history of suing after she has felt slighted from legal actions against her. I have a very strong case, however the aggravation and inconvenience has given me pause to think about putting the suite back into the rental pool when it becomes available. I have toyed with the idea of an Air B&B to be honest.

Vernon’s upcoming round table discussing the shortage of long term rentals might just ask some landlords about tenants that feel “sour grapes” when evicted legally or the many other issues when landlords have to deal with  problem tenants. If recourse to deal with problem tenants swings back to the landlord, perhaps these available suites will stay in the long term rental pool.
