Maybe drivers will care more about parking in the bike lane when cyclists start caring more about following the rules of the road.
Every day, I drive through this city, and every day I see cyclists two to three across a lane, slowing and even stopping the flow of traffic; cycling like they think they're motor vehicles and blocking cars trying to get by on Highway 97 – and a lot without helmets!
Cyclists in this city have zero respect for traffic.
And good luck trying to drive around a cyclist. I literally had two last week swerve out in front of my truck to keep me from passing them.
So, yes, I will park in your cycling lane as long as you continue to cycle in my driving lane.
