Wake up and smell roses

I'm ashamed of the politicians we have in Victoria, Edmonton, etc. – and mainly in Ottawa.

Some of them are called "ministers" and even "honourable."

Being ashamed is one thing, being denied is another, and being lied to is even worse.

Why do we have ministers who don't know anything about anything? Why is it they are allowed to not answer legitimate questions? It's because they don't have an answer, but won't admit it.

Environment Minister Catherine McKenna is a true example. She doesn't answer anything, because she can't.

Justin Trudeau put her in place because he wanted a woman in there, not because McKenna knows what she is supposed to.

If she did, she would have to change her lifestyle a lot, almost as much as "Dr." David Suzuki, who has a big mouth, telling everybody how to live, but does the exact opposite himself.

Now we have established there is no global warming, they all talk about climate change. The whole thing is a joke, and not a funny one.

If governments were serious, they would go ahead and lead by example – but they don't. They fly with jets to Paris from around the world, decide we have to reduce our carbon footprint and then they fly home again.

Instead of using our own oil, they allow ships from all over the world to bring it here. How much pollution does that create? They shut down our coal industry, but keep exporting coal by millions of tons. If it is burned somewhere else, it's not so bad?

If the oil has to go to the coast, it will. On the road or on the rail, and we all know how many accidents and derailments we have. The trains are so busy hauling crude, that our farmers can't sell their crops because of a shortage of trains.

How much longer are we willing to let this go on before we wake up?

Roger von Dach
