Owning two homes

Just because someone owns two homes doesn’t mean the poor get poorer. Plus in case you haven’t noticed, this whole area depends on the tourist dollars and if those tourists want to buy their second home here, that’s their right.

Maybe its the home they want to retire to, maybe it’s an investment and they rent it out to other tourists. Either way, Kelowna needs tourists and retirees. Years ago, the last time NDP was in power, I was a single mom trying to make ends meet. I had to leave my home town where all my friends and family were so I could afford to pay my rent, put food on the table and hold my head up high. I did what I had to do.

If you can’t afford to work and live in Kelowna then maybe it’s time to find a place you can afford to. Maybe next time don’t vote, vote for a party that’s going to make sure there’s jobs and not try to punish those that can afford to live here.
