I can't agree more with that article entitled "No middle class". My wages in construction have slid 50% over the last 5 years and my UI is half of what it used to be. I am now teaching English and Spanish in China.
It's allright to cut everyone's incomes if the cost of living also goes down. It's not happening in Canada, especially with the privatisation of utilities. Here in China I make 1/3rd of what I made in Canada, but it costs me 1/12th as much to live here. I live 4X better. We can't live on 3rd world wages and pay 1st world expenses. Ex-Kelowna resident.
