It seems in Vernon the gas prices are fixed as the same price pops up at every station. If the price goes up, all stations in Vernon raise the price within hours to the exact same price, sometimes as much as 20 cents.
When the prices go down elsewhere, reluctantly they are lowered in Vernon by 1 cent every other day. How can the price be the same at all gas stations in Vernon, but most other communities have stations with different prices? How can gas cost 5-10 cents per litre more in Vernon than Kamloops?
The lowest price in BC last Monday according to gasbuddy.com is 114.9 at Costco in Prince George, while in Vernon it's 129.9 (at all stations), Kelowna 127.9 and Kamloops 122.9. Both Kelowna and Kamloops have various prices that offer consumers some choice but not in Vernon. The price is fixed in Vernon, as always.
