BC Premier Christie Clark is frequently questioned about her party soliciting and accepting very large donations from corporations. Many citizens and journalists are justly concerned about the "coincidence" of these same corporations receiving preferential treatment by "our" provincial government.
When criticized for this practise, Ms. Clark always replies that the only alternative to her "cash-for-access" is having taxpayers pay for politician's campaign expenses. I suppose that because she's been living off of taxpayers for so many years, she just can't imagine her and other politicians paying their own way.
What an astounding sense of entitlement!
