Close call with semi

In response to the close call with the semi, I drive truck and on a weekly basis maybe even twice a week I see that happen. Guys who drive trucks like that are the ones who get into accidents that could 100% be prevented. As truck drivers, we are supposed to be professional, and for the most part we are, it's the bad ones who make other drivers hate truck drivers, and when people think badly about truck drivers they do stupid things.

More often than not, I am driving in the slow lane coming up the hill from the Enderby turn off heading to Salmon Arm, I'm almost always loaded full in the cargo area, so I'm creeping to get up to speed with my 4 way flashers on in what's called the climbing lane. Right where the 2 lane ends and moves to one lane almost always I get the last minute "I have to get in front of this truck asshole" and it has happened enough that at least 6 times in 3 months Ive needed to come to a complete stop to prevent a collision with the guy passing me and oncoming traffic and when you honk your horn at them they yell out the window at you and give you the finger.

More often that not, I get people following me so close that I can't see them behind me. I can't imagine what it would be like being in an accident and having someone die. I can't imagine how I would feel, I can't imagine the pain and anguish anyone would go through dealing with that. People need to give trucks room and patience. As for the trucks passing each other, they give all other drivers a bad bad name.
