A few days ago, my husband and I were riding our cruiser bikes along Abbott Street when my husband’s bike got a flat tire.
Being unprepared for a flat tire, I started to call local bike shops and the only one open on a holiday Monday was Fresh Air Concept on Groves Ave. I called at 3:40 and they were closing at 4:00 PM. I rode there quickly as we were close by and was going to purchase a tube and borrow tools and a pump to be returned the next day.
Instead, the wonderful employees suggested they would pick my husband up on Abbott and bring him and the bike to the shop.
We were prepared to leave the bike there overnight to pick up the next day after a repair but the employees stayed late to make the repair – a bit more complicated than a simple tube change.
This kind of customer service is hard to find and we appreciate the young people staying late on a holiday to help us enjoy the rest of our ride. Congrats to your amazing staff Jim and Karen Bates!
