Help keep the beach clean

I’m writing to express my disappointment following a telephone discussion with a City Parks employee.

There is but one beach access dog park in the city of Kelowna. There are dispensers for doggy poop bags mounted in the park but unfortunately they are never filled. The employee I spoke to said there wasn’t enough money to supply this park with bags and that this particular park operated under the “take a bag, leave a bag” notion.

If everyone who visited this park had a bag or two, we wouldn’t need the dispenser would we! 

Someone is emptying the garbage cans on a regular basis so why couldn’t they fill the dispensers at the same time? Why is the cost of doggy bags prohibitive in just this one dog park?

Come on Kelowna City Parks Department, help us keep this one single beach access for dogs clean and tidy.
