New City Hall needed?

Does West Kelowna need a new City Hall? Perhaps?

Does it need to cost 7.7 million dollars of tax payer monies. Perhaps not?

Does is need to be part of a 31 million dollar deal, benefiting developers and commercial realtors or could it be built on City owned land? Perhaps?

I find it interesting that the city originally requested $10.2 million for the same project prior to the defeated alternate approval process. What's another 3.3 million dollars of taxpayer funds? It appears council needed to sweeten the deal in order to make it more attractive to voters.

There are 11,000 people boiling water in West Kelowna. Do you think their tax dollars would be put to better use upgrading the Lakeview water system? Do you think the monumental increase in traffic on Boucherie Road is going to be happy driving over pot wholes and uneven pavement? How about our two aging fire halls, do you feel they should be replaced?

It is a three percent tax increase that benefits a few.

Ask yourself how high you want your taxes to rise. West Kelowna has lots of infrastructure in need of funding. Do we need to put all that money into a City Hall? Perhaps.

The voters will let us know, and I for one, encourage everyone to vote NO and force the City back to the drawing board.
