Helicopter noise

Here we go again.

A few selfish people are whining about a little noise interrupting their own little world. Whoop-dee-doo. Why in the world do local politicians even listen to them? Why don't the local politicians just tell them to go home and enjoy the wealth, peace and security that this country has given them. Should the odd bit of noise made by people earning a productive living interrupt their revere then they are free to pack up and move somewhere else.

Those 'wop-wops' are contributing to the economy that these 'few' simply take advantage of while contributing nothing in return.

My family spent 35 years living and working at the end of busy runways all over Canada and the world.  Not even one of our neighbours complained.  Ever.  When we retired and moved into Peachland we had an opportunity to buy a house next to Highway 97.  Are you kidding me?  We said no.  Now there are a few self-centred individuals who made stupid choices campaigning to move 97 into our watershed because it's too close to their house.  The one they chose to live in.   The empty heads seem to do the same thing with trains.  "Too much noise.  Unsafe for our children."   But there they are plunking their bums down right next to the tracks, or a gravel pit, or a scrap yard, or a drive in theatre.

West Kelowna, please simply ignore the Chopper Whiners.  Flying machines - and cars and trucks - have been with us for about 100 years.  These people have never known a time when they didn't exist.  Neither did their parents or grand parents.   The sounds that they make, and the infrastructure they need to make it, are a integral part of the economy that supports their lifestyle.

Just move.

David Winter
