Just the right shade

We've been trained to feel guilty whenever a paper or plastic shopping bag is required. However, with online shopping, there is no thought to the amount of garbage created. We recently purchased a single pair of shorts online because the colour wanted was not in store. Free shipping and voila, it arrives by truck to our door a couple of days later. The shorts are in a plastic bag, put into an oversize cardboard box stuffed with paper and shipping labels, along with a large invoice. All this for one lowly item.

Apparently, our planet is burning up because of over consumption, yet we are thrilled by the wonders and convenience of one of the new-world's most wasteful practices.  It's pretty ridiculous when you consider this waste occurs millions of times everyday on a worldwide scale, and growing exponentially.

Let's live like there's no tomorrow.
