Re: Small town wants compost
On behalf of the Regional District of Central Okanagan, it is important that we respond to Kelaine Kerry Kozak’s letter published March 16th, due to a number of inaccurate statements.
The Regional District has absolutely nothing to do with the closure of the compost site operated by the District of Peachland. The RDCO has no jurisdiction or regulations over the operation of the site, nor the reasons behind the decision to close this location.
Peachland Mayor Cindy Fortin serves as a Director on the Regional Board and has been keeping the rest of the Board informed and updated on the Peachland site issue.
