In the last few days, I've heard outrage over the bombings in France. I'm saddened and outraged too.
Justin Trudeau, one of his first acts as PM was promising to withdraw Canadian bombers. Since the attacks, I've heard opposition to this. That we should stand up and bomb a target that we don't know: have we learned nothing from previous wars? How many innocent people were bombed by the 'friendly' nations.
I hope that he still stands up and reclaims Canada as a nation of ground level peacekeepers. Picking up the pieces. Restoring rather than destroying. It's not about cowardice, not bombing blindly; it's about taking the high road. Looking people in the eye and offering a helping hand. That's what Canada stands for. That is what is going to defeat terrorism.
