Stunned

On Saturday, October 17, I was leaving the Kelowna Farmer’s Market with my baby and had to pass by a couple of male volunteers (wearing green shirts) promoting for a local candidate. I was asked if I was ready for a change in this country? I answered yes of course! I was then asked if I was going to vote, and replied I already had. They actually asked me who I voted for if you can believe it. I replied that I didn’t have the option to vote for the party I wanted to and their response was, did you vote Liberal then? I shrugged my shoulders because I wasn’t going to tell them who I voted for. Then they asked me did you vote NDP? Again I shrugged my shoulders and their reply to me was ‘what a waste of vote!’.

I commented you have no right to say that to anyone and should just be promoting people to cast their vote. As I was crossing the road with my baby they continued to call out to me why my vote was a waste (even though they had no idea who I voted for).

Unfortunately, I forgot something at the market so I had to walk back by these two men. I snuck past them on the way into the market, but on the way back out he asked me again if I wanted a change in this country. Again I replied yes and he started to talk and I reminded him I was the one you just told that i wasted a vote. There was another volunteer there this time wearing a red shirt and I proceeded to tell her my experience with these two men. They were trying to justify their comments to her as i walked away.

I am stunned. Shame on you two men wearing greens shirts, and to think I was going to vote for that party if I had the option.
