After reading the story written by reporter Jon Manchester about the strange lights in the sky, I'd like to add that I also witnessed something that what was as bright, if not brighter, than an aircraft landing light with a bright white colour to it. I immediately thought it was an aircraft until I realized it wasn't moving. I even considered maybe a helicopter, but easily ruled that out too. This was also around 10:00 pm as I was travelling south down Highway 97 from Vernon and first noticed it from just south of the airport.
Today I looked up to what I believe was the mountain peak I saw the light last night and noticed a radio tower on top, but I'm not completely certain it was the same mountain top the light was on which would be the June Springs / Gallagher's area.
Dale Zacharias was not the only one that saw this light if it makes him feel better, but it definitely was not a plane. Plane's don't sit there still.
